New walkers are always welcome.
You don't have to be a member for your first three walks. Please come along and try our walks before you join. click this link to see what to expect
Simply turn up at the start and as long as you can comfortably complete the walk and have clothing and footwear suitable for the weather conditions that's all there is to it ! We would recommend choosing a shorter walk for your first time. For most walks there are no pre booking or registration formalities.
We try to be dog friendly but as a courtesy please phone the walk leader before bringing a dog. Frisky, intimidating & temperamental cattle can be problem enough without a dog. Try this link walking with dogs
We usually have a break about half way through the walk so please feel free to bring food & drink.
Our walks are usually between 6 to 12 miles and are at a reasonably brisk pace. They end with socialising in a pub/cafe.
They are over open countryside, farmland & moors. Will probably involve climbing over stiles and it's usual to encounter cattle & mud.
The walk leader has the right to refuse to take anyone who appears unable to complete or ill prepared for the walk
Please obey any instructions from the Walk Leader. They are concerned for your safety.
We welcome walkers of all ages but anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult with parental responsibility.
If you have any questions please email us at

We are part of "The Ramblers" what used to be known as The Ramblers Association. The Ramblers Association was founded on 1st January 1935 and has dedicated itself since then to protecting our network of footpaths and campaigning for the interests of walkers.
There are many walking clubs and most are just that. Walking clubs.
The Ramblers are different. The Ramblers actively campaign to keep our rights of way open. Officers from Leeds Ramblers attend many planning meetings and visit sites to ensure the rights of walkers are not overlooked.
